Tucan were the proud recipients of the 'Best Musical Group' award at the 14th annual aoife (association of irish festival events) conference which was held at the end of 2007. The award was regognition of a great debut year for the pair which saw them grabbing the limelight at venues and festivals across the country. Tucan were on hand to recieve the?accolade and wrapped up a great night with a stomping set which was very well recieved by the gathered delegates.

It capped what was a productive year for the duo and bodes well for them as they head into '08.

Monday, September 15, 2007 - The Regina Spektor Story
The Regina Spektor Story!!

A crazy thing happened to us not so long ago...

We were passing the day busking in Templebar in Dublin, trying to earn the rent. After we finished playing a song a wee American girl came up to us and started chatting to us about our music and all that stuff. We gave her our myspace address, told her to check it out and she went on her merry way.

The next morning we get a phone call off POD Concerts (Irish Music Promotion Company). They said that Regina Spektor had met us the previous day on the streets busking and that she wanted us to support her at her sold out show in the TRIPOD (Dublin venue) that night..... We were totally amazed and of course said yes we would love to do it.

So we turned up that evening and met the lovely Regina and proceeded to play a wee support slot in front of a packed venue of about 1400 people, which went very well, her fans really know how to rock........ We got to hang out and chat with Regina after her show (which was absolutley amazing). She is a beautiful, warm, charming person, who one could easily fall in love with instantly.......

The funny thing is that a couple of months previous to this we had asked POD concerts if we could support her but they said that there was already support for her show...(which there was, we were the second support band).....

This was the day before we went to The Electric Picnic Festival which we were playing at......quite a week.

Regina is now legendary in our book.
