Túcan are a hotly tipped, award-winning, up-and-coming instrumental acoustic guitar duo hailing form Sligo. They incorporate a wide and varied range of styles into their playing; from classical and 60’s rock to heavy metal, trad and jazz. Their music is currently being used in a nationwide radio ad campaign for the Mexican beer ‘Sol’. Túcan’s members, Donal Gunne and Pearse Feeney, have grown up playing music together but only turned professional in 2006 due to University commitments.

Since finishing their time at University the pair has dived into the world of music. To date they have shared the stage with some major acts such as Rodrigo y Gabriela, Regina Spektor, Kíla, José Feliciano, Seamie O’Dowd, Dervish, The Pale, and Alabama 3 as well as some big up and comings like Eoin Coughlan and Daara J.

2007 also saw them win ‘Best Musical Group’ at the annual AOIFE (Association of Irish Festivals and Events) Conference. The lads have also taken to the streets of Dublin to earn their crust when not gigging. This has proven very successful though they have not gone unnoticed by the Police……..THEY ARE CURRENTLY BANNED FROM BUSKING ON GRAFTON STREET FOR USING AMPLIFIERS!
